Why did you guys decide to
start a health and fitness company?
Because so many people have been
asking us how to get fit and healthy, and we decided
to write it all down so we could share it with people
more easily.
What differentiates it from
all the other health and fitness companies out there?
The information in our program has
been gathered based on the health and fitness approaches
used by the most successful athletes from a wide range
of fields: track, soccer, tennis, etc.. It’s good
enough for a champion, but made for the average person.
Is this program just for
athletes, or can regular people use it too?
This program is for everyone. The busy executive looking for general health
and fitness, the working mom who gained some weight during pregnancy and now
wants to lose it, kids, grandparents – they all can do this program and
benefit from it.
What do you mean when you
say: “you don’t have to be an Olympian to
train like one?”
The basic elements of fitness are the same for everyone. What Olympians do
to get into the best possible condition is something anyone can do.
How did you go from being
dreamers to Champions?
By believing and doing and persevering. My motto is: let’s go, don’t
talk about it, just do it.
Why do you say that people
don’t need to do cardio?
It’s not that they don’t need to do it, it’s that they don’t
need to it in isolation from other exercise. Cardio is just getting your heart
rate up. Why waste time doing it in isolation when you can combine it with
resistance, balance and stability training simultaneously. People have misinterpreted
what cardio is. Jumping on a treadmill or running 5 k is not the only or even
the best way to improve cardio fitness. You can enhance your cardio fitness
more efficiently and effectively by doing a fast-moving circuit workout.
What’s the difference
between your strength and weight training routines and
traditional ones?
Traditional routines work strictly on separating muscle group training. We
use our whole body in every day life, so you should use your whole body when
you train. Muscles work in conjunction with each other, not separately.
Why is core fitness so important?
Because the core muscles are what stabilize the body and prevent injury.
Can a person who has been
overweight and out of shape all their life really turn
things around and become very fit? How?
Yes. Anyone can do anything they want, as long as they are committed, take
it one step at a time, and just start.
What is circuit training
and why do you recommend it?
Circuit training is a method of training that uses all body muscles, functions,
and systems simultaneously. We recommend it because it’s total body training,
and mimics how our bodies actually function in real life. You don’t wake
up in the morning and say “Gee, today I am only going to take my upper
body out, the legs are staying at home” or “ I think I’m
going to do half my day running in cardio, and the other half pushing hard.” You
use your whole body all the time, and your workouts ought to reflect that.
What type of diet do you
recommend? Why?
I don’t recommend any type of diet, I recommend sensible eating. Mostly
vegetables, and eliminate processed foods. Most diets are fads that are here
today, and gone tomorrow. You do lose weight on them, but as soon as you stop,
you usually gain all your weight back and then some.
What’s the relationship
between strength training and bone density?
Resistance training will maintain bone density.
What do you mean when you
say: “Intensity is the Key” to training effectively?
Intensity is about pushing beyond your limits. You will only improve if you
try harder every time. That’s the secret to success.
