Listed below are insights into the Tranz4m
Nutritional Eating Plan. First of all, what do high performance
athletes eat? Why do they eat what they eat?
If athletes eat specific foods to make their
bodies work to its maximal capacity, then why don’t
we eat what they are eating? An athlete’s eating
habits are based on a balanced diet with simple basic foods.
The more natural state the food is in, the better it is
for you!
The 80 – 20
Rule: Vegetables Rule!
The Tranz4m Diet is very simple: 80% of your daily intake should be vegetables
(a complex carbohydrate). Vegetables rule! And it’s common sense. You
don’t need a million-dollar Harvard study to validate what your grandmother
has been telling you for years: eat your vegetables.
It’s also important not to drench
your vegetables in typical rich, fattening dressing like
Ranch or Blue Cheese. In fact, we don’t place any
limit on your veggie consumption in the Tranz4M diet, because
we don’t think you can eat too many raw green veggies.
Water Is You
“ You are only drinking too much water when you are drowning.”
Your body is made up of mostly water. A
healthy, moving body needs plenty of water to replenish
fluids lost during exercise and basic metabolic functions.
We recommend at least 3 L of water per day to hydrate your
body and prevent dehydration and premature fatigue. Because
thirst is not a good indicator of fluid needs, we suggest
drinking as much cold water as you can during exercise.
Proteins
Most North Americans intake too much protein. We suggest you eat two 6 oz to
8 oz portions of lean meat per day. We recommend eating fish such as salmon,
trout, or snapper, as well as lean turkey breast, lean chicken breast, or
buffalo. Steak is okay, but no more than once per week. Organic, omega-3
eggs are another good source of protein.
Carbohydrates
Tranz4M recommends that you eat a
maximum of three servings of complex carbohydrates (not
including vegetables) per day: one serving of raw oats
in the morning with almond milk, and two servings of
fruit, preferably apples. (Avoid high sugar fruits like
oranges and bananas, as well as starchy foods like potatoes
and pasta). That’s all your body needs, especially
if you are trying to lose weight. If you want to gain
weight, you can eat fruits, grains, oats, and starches,
but on a carefully monitored basis.
Fats
It is important not to eliminate
fats in your diet, as they are important for proper body
function. We suggest using fine quality oils such as
extra virgin olive, flax, safflower oils (poly- and mono-unsaturated)
and decreasing the use of saturated fats such as red
meats, dairy products, and egg yolks.
Daily Meal Plan
The Tranz4m meal plan is just a plain common sense departure from diet fads.
It follows an eating tradition that is thousands of years old. It is 80%
vegetarian, and water-based. Which nation is the healthiest in the world?
Japan. What is the healthiest region in Japan? Okinawa. Copy them. Do what
they do. To get a full and complete dietary and nutrition program, you
